Designed to provide dealers with a choice of affordable A/V receiver solutions that include the latest market technologies, the new AVR-S910W and AVR-S710W are expected to be available in a few weeks.
Denon explains its latest home theater receivers build upon the features and performance established by the S-Series of products that were first introduced in 2014.
The 7.2-channel AVR-S710W delivers a seven-channel amplification section rated to produce 165 watts per channel. It also includes Bluetooth, Wi-Fi wireless network compatibility, video processing, and six HDMI 2.0a inputs that support HDCP 2.2, 4K at 60Hz, high-dynamic range (HDR); compatibility with the BT.2020 color space spec, 4:4:4 Pure Color subsampling and the 21:9 aspect ratio.

In addition, the receiver also incorporates Dolby’s object-based Atmos surround sound technology. Later this fall, dealers will be able to add DTS’ object-based surround sound format DTS:X through a firmware upgrade.
The AVR-S910W offers many of the same features as the AVR-S710W. It adds two additional HDMI 2.0a inputs and a second HDMI 2.0a output, as well as Apple’s AirPlay technology and Audyssey’s MultiEQ setup and room calibration suite.
It is also noteworthy to point out that Denon ups the power rating on the AVR-S910W to 185 watts per channel to provide users with a little extra headroom. DTS:X will be enabled through an online firmware update coming in the fall of 2015.
