Demand for high-level recruitment in Vietnam increased by at least 20% a year

In addition to the salary of $ 15,000-20,000 per month, the employer must also offer a bonus of up to 30% of salary and seniority to attract senior personnel.

Human resources director of a financial company said that since the beginning of the year, the company has been searching for a position of Vietnam Technology Director (CTO) with a salary of 10,000 USD, but not for 3 months. any person applying, forcing the company to look to headhunters. However, most of these companies said that with this salary, it is very rare for individuals to bear because the job requires not only good expertise but also the trend of the market.

“I have asked a HR company to search for people, but they require that individuals pay about $ 15,000-17,000. They finally found a foreign CTO for the company, ”said the company's HR director.

Not only in the financial sector, Ms. Thanh, an HR director of an insurance company, also said that two months ago the company was looking for senior personnel in the executive board, especially the position of CTO was very difficult. Search. Eventually the company was forced to offer a salary of nearly $ 16,000 to acquire personnel for this position.

Ms. Nguyen Thu Trang, ManpowerGroup Vietnam's Director of recruitment and HR consulting services, said that the high-level personnel market this year was very exciting, much better than previous years. Although offering a very high salary, it is unlikely that a person will be found. If the previous years, the salary of US $ 10,000 a month for senior positions in the fields of finance, banking, consumer ... all have candidates, it is almost impossible to recruit people.

With salaries of 15,000-20,000 USD, there must be many great incentives to get the personnel. For example, with the position of CTO at a business, in addition to being entitled to the above salary, a year of that person will also be rewarded with about 30% of the salary, after 3 years will have a senior reward. From the 4th year, every 4 years receive a senior salary. This level has not taken into account CEO positions.

"2 months ago, ManpowerGroup Vietnam was also looking for 2 CTO positions for insurance companies. However, even the start-up companies in the areas such as E-Commerce and Vietnamese technology still do not have such high-level personnel, so we have to find foreigners or overseas Vietnamese with a salary of over 200 million and it took a month to find it, ”Trang said.

She added that, for senior management positions and company executives, the current salary received by candidates could be up to over 300 million a month plus other benefits. With lower positions such as the National Sales Director for fast-moving consumer goods brands (salary + bonus + incentives) range from 5-10 billion a year, most of them are Vietnamese.

According to Ms. Trang, the quality of high-level personnel in Vietnam is showing many positive signs, Vietnamese people are increasingly adapting and good at operating and managing. If about 5-7 years ago, the positions of national directors of retail businesses, fast-moving consumer goods - most of them are foreigners, are now transferred to Vietnamese people.

Because Vietnam's economy has been open for the past 15-20 years, many foreign personnel have come in so Vietnamese people learn, experience and mature in a number of positions. Although the above senior positions have not found people in the country, but in the future they will gradually learn and meet.

Sharing about retaining talents, Ms. Trang said that despite being satisfied with a high salary but with this talent, besides the salary and bonus, they are interested in creating products useful for the environment and people. In addition, they must be trusted and empowered, then want to stick and contribute long term.

ManpowerGroup's recent report shows that 45% of global businesses are facing difficulties in recruiting, especially senior personnel. This is also the highest rate in 12 years. In particular, the group of particular industries such as information technology, health care, finance and technology are the most deficient groups. This situation is also happening in Vietnam. In the last 3 years, the demand for senior personnel recruitment in Vietnam increased by at least 20% a year.

However, the demand of the market is not enough to make the shortage increase. Also reflecting the shortage of high-level personnel, Navigos Search pointed out that businesses are stepping into the battle to attract talent. Currently, 41% of Vietnamese enterprises find it difficult to find qualified candidates for management positions.
