Over 4,000 hectares of mangrove forests restored

According to leaders of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, in recent times, Vietnam has made many efforts to strengthen forest management policies and improve the efficiency and economic value of coastal mangrove forests in Vietnam; recommend coastal provinces to increase efforts to protect and plant mangrove forests in the coming time. 

Speaking at the international conference "Promoting the multi-use value of mangrove forests for the goal of mitigating and adapting to climate change" taking place at the end of November, Ms. Ramla Khalidi, UNDP Resident Representative in Vietnam Nam, highly appreciated Vietnam's leadership in mangrove conservation. "The rapid loss of mangroves poses a serious threat to the resilience, coastal biodiversity and livelihoods of millions of people who depend on these ecosystems.
