Until now, the Department of Education and Training has provided guidance on teaching and learning, completed the teaching and evaluation plans, and assessed and classified students in primary and secondary schools for the academic year 2022-2023. They have also organized revision sessions for grade 9 students following the guidelines of the Ministry of Education and Training, which are suitable for the school's reality.
Regarding the preparation of facilities and equipment for the examination, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training has stated that the printing of test papers, storage of exam papers, sealing, and marking of exams, as well as information technology infrastructure, computers, printers, scanners, fire prevention and fighting systems, printing materials, and office supplies necessary for the examination, have all been thoroughly prepared to ensure safety and hygiene at all testing locations.
Mr. Ho Tan Minh provided additional information that in 2023, the Department of Education and Training implemented online enrollment registration through a mobile app combined with GIS maps to assist parents in registering their preferences and avoid choosing schools that are too far from their homes.
Thanks to this system, parents have been able to make more suitable choices. Statistics show that the average distance a student chooses a school from their home is about 7km. Only a few cases involved selecting schools with distances over 10km. In these cases, the Department of Education and Training provided guidance to the schools to offer supplementary counseling and support to students and their parents while still respecting the parents' decisions.
Furthermore, in 2023, the Department of Education and Training made the strongest digital transformation efforts in the registration and organization of the examination. Parents no longer need to register on paper as before; all documents have been digitized. Parents only need to provide their confirmation signatures directly at the school, which reduces errors and greatly facilitates the parents' process.
