Ms. Ngo Thi Ngoc Anh - Director of the Center for Gender Studies, Family and Community Development (CFCD) shared some tips to effectively manage the maids. Accordingly, when hiring a maid, families should pay special attention to the following five points:
1. Sign the contract, agree in advance of the principles
This is a very important exercise to ensure comfort for both homeowners and maids. The more thorough the terms of the agreement, the better the work and the relationship between the landlord and the maids. On the other hand, contracting also helps the landlord secure the hire of a maid.
2. Schedule the day-to-day management of the maid
At present, many families give up everything for the maid. On the other hand, there are families who control the maid so tightly as to intervene bit by bit in their work.
Both methods of management are not reasonable, too tight makes the maid is not comfortable, too loose, do not control the quality of work.
Therefore, it is best for the landlord to schedule each job on a weekly or daily basis, then give specific instructions and then give them to the assistant. After about 1 week should evaluate to draw experience.
On that basis to help self-adjustment for the next working week.
3. Monitor by camera
To ensure the security and also to control the maids that you do not really trust, the installation of surveillance cameras is necessary. However, this should be done cleverly, avoid the bad feelings for the maid.
4. Salary is commensurate with ability, working time
The landlord should have a reference to the general rate of assistance for the agreement and salary adjustments appropriate to the nature and working time of the maid. There should be a reasonable incentive / penalty to encourage the maid. The salary increase, should also be based on the quality of the real work.
5. Treat honestly, humanities
The treatment of homeowners is one of the major factors affecting the maids, because most of them are rural people, living on emotional. When you treat them well, the beneficiary is your children.
In addition to the above five, Ms. Ngoc Anh said that families seeking to hire a maid should consider having a full-time or part-time maid.
For example, if you have grown up, just cleaning your home, sisters, mothers can hire hourly support staff. Choose when your family is most busy, to rent. Typically, peak times are 15:00 to 19:00, or on Saturdays and Sundays.
The minimum work time is 2 hours with the resident, less work, maximum 4-5 hours with many jobs, wide area. Hourly hiring will significantly increase the owner's motivation for using a maid.
