Out of 17 tests in primary school, students scored 14 points of 10 and 3 points of 9 or higher to be eligible to take the exam for 6th grade at Hanoi - Amsterdam specialized school.
According to the notice signed on May 18, Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted this year recruited 200 6th graders. The two rounds of pre-qualification and entrance exam were kept stable as in previous years. Application period is from now until 5:00 p.m. on May 27.
The preliminary round takes place from June 2 to 5 by reviewing academic records. The school considers the total score of the year-end test in Math and Vietnamese (grades 1-5); Science, History and Geography (grades 4, 5), English (grades 3-5). The maximum score is 170. Students who score 167 points or more are admitted. That means they need to get 10 points in at least 14 subjects, the remaining three subjects get 9 to be able to participate in the next round.
The selection round will take place on June 23. In the morning, students take Vietnamese and English exams, and math exams in the afternoon. Each subject lasts 45 minutes, combining multiple-choice and essay. The admission score is the total score of three tests, without prioritizing, up to 30. The Hanoi Department of Education and Training is responsible for setting the questions, organizing the examination and marking the exam.
Results were announced on 5/7. Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted takes admission from top to bottom until the quota is exhausted. If the score is equal, the candidate with the higher pre-qualification score will be given priority. Those who are admitted to school in three days 7-9/7.
Last year the standard for admission was 17 points.

According to the Department of Education and Training, secondary schools are recruited by line, especially high-quality schools are recruited students throughout the city. If the number of registered students exceeds the quota, high-quality schools will be considered for admission or combined with an entrance exam, completed before July 12.
Currently, in addition to the secondary school system of Hanoi - Amsterdam, the capital has three other high-quality schools, namely Cau Giay, Thanh Xuan, and Nam Tu Liem secondary schools.
