On October 5, at Ho Chi Minh City University of Education, the Southern Center for Education and Training Development (Ministry of Education and Training), Ho Chi Minh City Education Magazine, and DOL English Thinking English System jointly organized the Workshop "Improving the effectiveness of English teaching and learning using the Linearthinking method".
Speaking at the workshop, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thi Thanh Mai, Vice President of Ho Chi Minh City National University, Principal of the Gifted High School (Ho Chi Minh City National University) said that the workshop is one of the first steps of high schools in Ho Chi Minh City together with relevant parties to implement a very important goal in Conclusion No. 91 of the Politburo dated August 12, 2024, which is: "Focus on improving foreign language skills of students, gradually making English the second language in schools".
"The workshop gathered a large number of teachers who are English teachers in high schools, some of whom have a lot of experience in teaching and some of whom are very young. I think that the methods shared by the guest speaker today are a suggestion for us to think of good ways to work together to promote English proficiency not only for students but also for colleagues in other subject groups. I believe that the way to promote students' English proficiency lies not only in the learning method, but also in a regular practice environment, closely linked to the students' daily learning activities, and that environment does not just stop at the space of a certain school but must be of the entire student community of the city", said Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thi Thanh Mai.
With the participation of prestigious lecturers, through the workshop, high school teachers will have the opportunity to experience and practice new ideas; foster and develop teaching skills, improve English language proficiency in the classroom for teachers, thereby helping to improve students' learning outcomes.
