Vietnam-China Trade Conference: Strengthening Economic Cooperation in the Digital Transformation Era

On the morning of September 26th, within the framework of the 3rd Global Digital Trade Expo (GDTE 2024) in Hangzhou, China, the Trade Promotion Agency under the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam, in cooperation with the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Commerce and Alibaba.com, organized the “Vietnam-China Digital Trade Promotion Conference.”

The conference attracted the participation of more than 80 Vietnamese businesses from various sectors, including e-commerce, mobile information technology (5G/6G), chip production, artificial intelligence (AI) application software, and innovative digital solutions. Additionally, sectors related to intellectual property (IP) content, such as game design and IP games, were also introduced at the event.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Hoang Minh Chien, Deputy Director General of the Trade Promotion Agency, emphasized: “This conference offers a valuable opportunity for Vietnamese and Chinese businesses to meet, exchange experiences, and explore new cooperation possibilities in digital trade – a rapidly developing and highly promising field. This event also contributes to strengthening the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries, elevating bilateral relations to a new level and fostering sustainable, substantive development across all areas.”

During the conference, businesses from both countries had the chance to directly exchange and share information on potential areas of cooperation. This was not only an opportunity for Vietnamese businesses to gain experience and expand their partner network in China – a vast and promising market – but also an occasion to explore new directions in digital trade.

Furthermore, the conference enabled Vietnamese companies to access advanced technologies and modern digital solutions in areas such as e-commerce, smart logistics, digital supply chain management, online payment systems, and security technologies. These insights and solutions will contribute to enhancing the international competitiveness of Vietnamese enterprises.

The GDTE 2024 expo, held from September 25th to 29th, 2024 in Hangzhou, China, has garnered widespread attention from the business community. The active participation of Vietnamese enterprises not only boosts the national image but also plays a crucial role in promoting economic growth during the digital transformation era, while opening up numerous new opportunities for international cooperation.
